Story
Hospiscare is a local charity that is very dear to my heart. They have cared for some of my very special friends who I have loved and lost. It's an honour and a privilege to work for them, but I want to do even more. That's why on 11 May 2025, I'll be taking to the skies and skydiving for Hospiscare. It may seem a little crazy for someone who doesn't like heights, flying or enclosed spaces, but I'm going to feel the fear and do it anyway!
I'm asking for your help in raising funds for this phenomenal local charity. They are currently fighting for fairer funding with #FairFundingForHospiscare.
As a charity, they have to raise 82% of their funding through charitable fundraising every year, with the Devon Integrated Care Board providing just 18%. This is well below the national average of 37% that other hospices receive! Andrew Randall, Chief Executive of Hospiscare explains: "Unless the local funding body increases our funding in line with other hospice providers, we’ll sadly be forced into reducing our services."
Please help me raise awareness and funds by supporting Hospiscare. My Personal target amount is £2,000 and every donation counts towards making a difference in someone's life.
If you live in Exeter, Mid or East Devon, Hospiscare is your local adult hospice charity. Should you or a loved one need care for any type of terminal illness, their professional team of doctors and nurses are here to help. Their services are provided irrespective of race, religion, age, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, diagnosis or place of national origin.
