Story
My Story:
Two years ago as a result of an MRI scan, I was given the devastating news that I had a spinal tumour and was at risk of suffering paralysis from the neck down. Less than two weeks later I underwent major surgery, and after a significant period of recovery find myself lucky enough to be here, alive and kicking to tell the tale!
All because of an MRI scanner and our wonderful NHS! Additionally, I will need an MRI scan every year for 10 years, to help monitor against the return of the tumour, so as you can imagine this cause is something I feel strongly about!
So, when I saw a fundraiser to raise money for a state of the art MRI suite at my local hospital, Pinderfields, how could I not get involved?
Well for one thing, I'm petrified of heights and it's 164 feet high 😳
Anyway, I thought about it and within 10 minutes, I somehow found I had signed up to abseil down the side of Wakefield Cathedral to help raise funds!
Eeeek!
Well NOW I seriously need your help!
I need donations to make sure I have a VERY good reason not to back out, to make sure I am strong enough to put my big girl pants on and to do it! My hands are literally shaking right now just thinking about it so please, please sponsor me and help me make sure it happens and I can hand over some money to this fabulous cause.
I would love to raise £500 or ideally more, so if you see I have reached my initial target, please still give what you can, it will all go directly to the charity appeal, that will eventually provide the scanners any one of us might need in the future!
If you would like to know more about the appeal please take a look here:
