Story

If you’re reading this, you may have listened to my new song ‘an update’ which I wrote while having counselling sessions with Liverpool Bereavement Service this year after losing my boyfriend, Michael, in 2022.

Time in those sessions was invaluable: I gained a space to grieve, vent, cry and share stories with someone who may have never met Michael, but felt like they truly knew him once my sessions were up. I learnt that the precious time that I got to spend with him didn’t change now that he wasn’t here and that all I could do was continue putting one foot in front of the other, taking each day as it comes and continue making memories with those that I love, even though that felt impossible when I walked into that first session.

When I had my last session, I donated what I could but promised myself that when I had the opportunity to, I would donate more as I felt that the service they provided me with was worth so much more.

As you may know, streaming revenue for independent artists with a small audience is almost non-existent and that vowing to donate all of the money I made from people listening to the song wouldn’t be enough - so I set up this page.

I know that this is financially an incredibly tough time and so there is no target for this fundraiser and no expectations to donate at all, but I wanted to do what I could to give back to a service that encouraged me during the hardest time in my life. If you can donate at all, please know how grateful I am and how appreciated your donations will be to Liverpool Bereavement Service.

Thank you for reading and for listening to my song if you have. It truly means the world to me x
