Story
Last year I volunteered for SuperTroop - a charity that provides excellent holidays for children and young people with learning and sometimes physical disabilities - and will again in 2023.
The week long holidays are truly magical experiences experiences and opportunities for independence to children and young people with disabilities (please watch the video to learn more). The holidaymakers and their families don't pay anything to join this amazing week and it is entirely funded through donations.
This is why I'm fundraising by taking part in a Munro Challenge. If you know me, you'll know that I like climbing Murnos, Scottish mountains above 3,000 feet, but this will be tougher than anything I've ever done before.
On 26 August, me and a group of my fellow SuperTroopers will hike for 14km with our backpacks, camping gear and supplies for three days to the Courrour bothy in the Lairig Ghu in the middle of the Cairngorms. We will then get up very early the next morning and climb four Munros in one day covering a total distance of 30km. Then the next day we will hike the 14km back to civilisation.
