Story
Hello! My names Shane. I was referred to take part in this wonderful project by my friend Adam and I'm so excited to be able fundraise for such a wonderful cause that is quite close to my heart. Not to mention being able to meet so many amazing people in the process!
I'm not new to the hiking scene, due to my work with the Scouts, but this journey up Mount Toubkal will surely be unlike anything I've ever experienced in my life.
At 4,167m, our team will summit the highest peak in North Africa - Mount Toubkal - with its iconic triangular summit post!
We have decided to take on this challenge for Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end of life charity. Marie Curie supports people affected by any terminal illness, such as dementia (including Alzheimer’s), motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s, heart diseases and advanced cancer.
Every five minutes someone in the UK dies without the care and support they need.
The average age that someone experiences their first bereavement is at 20 years old, meaning that for many people across the UK this may happen whilst at University. And with your help we can support them through it.
