I’m not great with asking friends and family to help me fundraise but have decided it’s about time I got out there again and started to help make a difference, by helping the many worthwhile causes out there.

So this time I’m currently in Madeira and planning to hike the challenging trek between the Arieiro and Ruivo mountain peaks on Saturday 18th March (all very last minute but I wanted to use this as an opportunity to help ‘Action For Humanity’ to raise funds for families in dire need across Turkey and Syria).

Both countries were hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake which has been followed by dozens more earthquakes and hundreds of aftershocks.

Sadly.... over 55000 have been killed and many more injured, languishing in overwhelmed hospitals. Action for Humanity are on the ground (and have been immediately in the aftermath of the first earthquake as their office was based in the affected areas). They have mobilised quickly and are raising emergency funds to support survivors.

£80 -Emergency Kit: (Blankets, Mattress, plastic sheets, Hygiene kit)

£30 -Cooked meal- 10 families

£100 -Health emergency kit: (fuel for generators, medicines, consumables)

£2500 -Provide a home for earthquake survivors and for those who have lived in tents or been displaced for 12 years

£10,000 -Mobile clinic (facilitating life saving operations)
