In 2022 I joined Women On A Mission (WOAM), a group of incredible women who challenge themselves, physically and mentally, through groundbreaking expeditions, all to raise funds for partner charities helping very vulnerable women across the world.

Last year, our expedition took us to Svalbard, a remote archipelago, just 900km short of the North Pole. The aim was to kayak 115km in the icy arctic waters along 6 distinct glaciers. Unfortunately our expedition was cut short after only a few days as our kayaks were damaged in a storm.

But this group of women is undeterred and so this year, I am going back! Our journey will challenge us to kayak through the stunning archipelago, but also see us engage in hikes of up to 6 hours under the extended daylight hours of the Arctic summer.

This year, I will be raising funds for one of WOAM's long standing partner Women for Women International – UK, an organisation working tirelessly with marginalized women in conflict-affected countries to transform their lives. They provide support, skills training, and resources to help women earn an income, find confidence, and create better futures for themselves and their families.

Why I am doing this? Because I am in the fortunate position where I can take on challenges like this - both physically and financially - and help make a difference in the lives of women who are not so fortunate.

The expedition is self-funded so 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Women for Women International.
