Story
We're off to Malawi in October 2023 to travel across the southern section of 'the warm heart of Africa'. For two weeks we will scale mountains to survey Malawi's stunning landscapes, witness some of the most exotic wildlife we'll ever see and meet people who will show us what it is like to live in one of the poorest, but peaceful countries in the world.
In return, we would very much like to be able to support the programmes of the people who make this trip so special for us. For instance, we would like to:
- enable award-winning clinics like Achikondi and Koche Koche clinic to extend more of their life-saving neo natal and family planning services to villagers who live far from the city hospitals
- help Open Arms to admit more abandoned babies into their care and continue their vital infant feeding programmes in villages like Nomala
- secure primary and education places for more village children at extraordinary schools like Bolera Palms, Thom's Colourful Classroom and Malawi Children'
To raise money I will be running the Edinburgh Seven Hills, a course that goes around the city climbing each of the seven peaks of: Calton Hill, Castle Hill, Corstorphine Hill, Craiglochart Hill, Braid Hill, Blackford Hill, and Arthurs Seat. In total the course is a little over half a marathon with around two thousand feet of elevation.
More information on the course can be found here
