Story
In April 2024, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia - an aggressive blood cancer. I then spent a year in hospital isolation, undergoing intensive chemotherapy and surviving on daily blood and platelet transfusions. Before my diagnosis, even climbing the stairs felt like climbing a mountain, and on the rare occasions I was allowed into the hospital garden, I had to be taken there in a wheelchair.
On 6 February 2025, my life was saved by a stem cell transplant from an anonymous donor, found through the charity Anthony Nolan.
To mark seven months since my transplant - and World Bone Marrow Donor Day on 20 September - I’m taking on my biggest mission yet: climbing 7 of Hampshire’s highest hills in 7 days. Each summit represents one month of life I’ve been given since my transplant.
Since then, I’ve already walked 60km for Leukaemia UK and published my One Brave Life bucket list journal to raise funds for Anthony Nolan - but this challenge will be my boldest yet.
💚 Please support me by donating to my page and helping me reach my target.
