Story
In April 2023 I took part in a ladies doubles Hyrox race (https://hyrox.com/the-fitness-race/) in Malaga, it was somewhat tougher than we had expected, albeit a lot of fun! So for some reason my race partner (under duress ;-), and I decided to do a second at the Excel in London in Nov 23.
It made me think that doing a Macmillan SOLO entry would not only push me to near limits, (and take quite some training to even complete it alone!) but also to fund raise for such a great charity. I therefore signed up (a little while ago) to do it on my own in Manchester on 28th January 2024, in the hope it would give me plenty of physical and fundraising prep time!
Now, with little time to go, I am wondering if I should have gone for one later in the year ;-) . . . . . . . However, a good drive for me is to remember that Macmillan support so many people who are diagnosed with cancer, and have also been there for some of my close friends and family when they have needed it.
The sad fact is that right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million :-(
Please donate what ever you are able - every penny helps!

- Approximately 730,000 people received person-to-person support from one or more of our Macmillan Professionals or services.
- They gave out over £19 million in Macmillan Grants and estimate that we helped to secure over £350 million in benefits through the advice provided by our Support Line and local Welfare Rights Services.
