Story
This year, Sedbergh School will be supporting Siobhan’s Trust (www.siobhanstrust.uk) who support displaced Ukrainian communities.
We aim to raise £40,000 by the end of term for a mobile pizza van to go to Eastern Ukraine and feed those families (and soldiers) near the front line. This van will be called “The Wolf” and can hopefully provide a model that other schools can follow. Donations can be made via this page and all amounts are welcome, however small. Please use GiftAid which will supplement our appeal. Those who donate over £250 pounds will get their name on the side of the van. For anyone wanting to make a major donation please contact the School directly - hm@sedberghschool.org
Introducing Siobhan's Trust
This incredible, small, family run, charity have set up mobile feeding stations in towns and villages in the East of the country, often quite close to the Front Line. These are invariably the most deprived communities and are often ‘no go’ areas for the NGOs and larger charities. Those they are feeding are the most vulnerable, often living in squalid conditions without water, gas or electricity.
With the recent missile attacks in Ukraine at the forefront of many of our minds, the next few months will be an ongoing challenge (as winter approaches with temperatures often below - 15C). So, they intend to redouble their efforts to feed and support the huge numbers of internally displaced refugees that remain in desperate need. They will continue to provide pizza, alongside fruit, chocolates and hot drinks. They are small and nimble, able to move the operation to where the need is the greatest.
