Story
Next week I will be cycling the entirety of the Liverpool-Leeds Canal in the hopes of raising money for disadvantaged Sri Lankan children.
I will be cycling 127 miles of relentless British countryside and getting my head down in beautiful, Burnley farmer's fields along the way.
The plan is to get the train to Liverpool and then peddle back up to University through the scenic canal route whilst wild camping.
Using an absolute beast of an Apollo second-hand mountain bike, donated to me by a small independent charity bike shop, I will aim to complete this challenge in 2 days.
Living amongst the frogs and foxes and snoring next to the canal isn't how I expected to spend my Easter break; but nonetheless it is a challenge I am eager to embrace.
In July, I am planning on volunteering in Sri Lanka. I will be focusing on the Sports Development program within an underfunded Sri Lankan school. Working closely with local governments and schools, I aim to strengthen sports development all over Sri Lanka and create a culture of inclusiveness as well as funding for equipment and facilities.
For a month, I will be working alongside and helping a small Sri Lankan community grow and develop. Living in a hut and eating self sustainably whilst making a positive impact in the lives of these children will be a great challenge and experience.
This amazing opportunity is only available to me if I'm able to raise £1,000 by the Summer of 2023.
I am kindly asking for donations, no matter how big or small, or a simple share to spread awareness and light on my project :)
Travelteer are an amazing company that make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate. These disadvantaged children and communities are flourishing and developing profoundly as a result of the hard work of private organisations such as Travelteer.
Armed with just a tent, fizzy Haribos and a pack of baby wipes, I am determined to complete this challenge and raise as much money as possible for these children.
It's a question I've always asked of myself and I'm excited to tackle this goal and push my physical and mental boundaries and peddle all the way back to University.
Please donate whatever you can spare.
I understand if you're not in the position to be able to donate, I know times are tough and life is getting more and more expensive.
Just a share is enough to put a smile on my face.
Any donations and shares are greatly appreciated and go a long way!
Thank you :)
