Richard was a firefighter in Oban, who tragically passed away in June this year, at Chesterfield Hospital. Before moving to Scotland he worked for the Humberside Fire Service and was on the technical crew of the Red Arrows in the RAF.

Richard supported Hope Kitchen while he lived in Dalmally. He supplied them with eggs from his chickens Molly, Dolly, Polly and Rosie.
