Story
After the tragic and untimely passing of one of my best friends ‘Guesty’ to this terrible disease, I am running the 2024 London Marathon, raising money to support Leukaemia UK in the hope that it will go a small way to ensuring other families will not have to go through the heartbreak and devastation that losing Martyn has caused to so many. Martyn was a warrior, the strongest person I know. Whilst the thought of running a marathon fills me with dread and fear, I know that Martyn would have relished this challenge had he been given the chance to compete. I know you’ll be with me every step of the way and I will take some comfort knowing you’ll be by my side. Guesty, this one’s for you mate 💙
Alongside running for Martyn, Leukaemia UK support all forms of blood cancer. My wife Chloé was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and began treatment at The Royal Marsden in 2016. She showed tremendous fight and bravery during adversity and I am so immensely proud of her. Our hero is the most wonderful wife and Mummy to Herbie. So I am raising money for her, too, as a thank you for the support and care she received throughout her treatment and beyond.
Any donations are gratefully received, and I thank you so much for all your support.
Where your money will go;
A little bit from Leukaemia UK
We are Leukaemia UK. We believe research has the power to stop leukaemia devastating lives.
Despite decades of incredible progress, only half of leukaemia patients live longer than five years after their diagnosis. We won’t stop until we change this.
Bringing together the leukaemia community, we will accelerate progress through life-changing research, awareness and advocacy, doing everything we can to make sure that the next person with leukaemia has the best possible experience of diagnosis, treatment and care.
