Story
I am one of eleven local businesspeople who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. I've been found guilty of hiding in the golf simulator when it’s busy, and sent down with bail set at £1,000.
With only my phone, laptop and my powers of persuasion, I need your help to raise funds to pay bail and escape jail.
I'm participating in Maggie's Jail or Bail charity event for a few reasons. Firstly, Richard, with his persuasive charm, nudged me into this noble cause. But beyond that, I have family members who are currently dealing with the harsh realities of cancer. Witnessing their struggle has made me appreciate the invaluable work that Maggie’s do. Through my participation, I hope to raise some vital funds for Maggie’s so that they can continue providing support to those living with cancer.
For many people living in the Northeast, Maggie's Aberdeen is a beacon of hope, offering a unique programme of practical and psychological support, available free of charge to people at any stage and with any type of cancer, and to their family and friends.
In the past decade Maggie’s Aberdeen have received over 80,000 visits, provided tens of thousands of hours of 1-2-1 psychological and specialist cancer support and raised £9,000,000 in financial gains for local people. They rely entirely on voluntary donations and gifts in wills to fund their work, and with instances of cancer 1 in 2 people, there is huge demand for the support they provide. Please bail me out and help Maggie’s – every £ will help.
