Story
I'm doing this in memory of our much loved friend Garry Spence. Garry passed away on 30th April 2023. He was such a lovely man, who is sorely missed by so many. A true gent.
I have walked many a trail with Garry, climbed many a mountain, and simply enjoyed many a laugh with him. He adored the wild places in Scotland, so I thought I'd give the infamous Cape Wrath Trail a go in his memory, and to raise funds for research into the disease that took him from us far too early, Bowel Cancer.
The Cape Wrath Trail is an unofficial, unmarked and magnificently wild long distance route from Fort William to Cape Wrath, the most north westerly point of mainland Scotland. A superb and challenging route of approx 210 miles, the Trail passes through some of Scotland's most spectacular landscapes.
My start date is Monday 15th April and I hope to finish by 1st May (barring injury).
The charity Bowel Cancer UK funds targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. They do all they can to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
