We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

I have only been a 'dog person' intermittently throughout my life with my current K9 companions being a testing pair of Pomeranians named Milo & Monty. It is therefore with some trepidation that I will be taking charge of several huskies to pull a sled across the Arctic for 7 days to fundraise for The Brain Tumour Charity.

I will be joined on this adventure by team of valiant explorers from within the Built Environment Industry who are all familiar with the amazing work carried out by the Brain Tumour Charity having sadly lost an industry friend rather suddenly a few years back to a brain tumour. Their dedication to funding research and providing support for those affected by brain tumours is truly inspiring.

The itinerary looks something like this: Day 1 - Head to Kiruna in Sweden then off to the kennels to meet the dogs, learn to mush and out in to the wilderness for 25km of sledding, spending the night in a Sami tepee. Days 2-5 - A collective 145km of sledding, in and around natural trails with home being a cabin in the wilderness with no running water or electricity but a frozen lake and lots of wood to chop for the fire!

The challenge runs from March 7th - 13th 2025, and my target amount is set at £5,000. Your support in this journey will go a long way to making a meaningful impact to the lives of those affected by brain tumours....and hopefully provide an interesting insight in to Arctic life!
