Sophie’s fundraiser for Natasha Allergy Research Foundation

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
My three kids, Jasper, Felix and Cleo, have lived with severe allergies, both food and environmental, since toddlerhood. It has not been an easy road and, now adults, hasn’t been something they have ‘grown out of’. It is a constant feature in their lives, with preventative medicines taken daily, year round, and a required state of high alert when out and about. Every stage and feature of managing their condition has been extremely challenging and at times very scary and upsetting - with no answers as to why they have this condition and ultimately no cure for them.
Research and expertise in the field of allergy is woefully limited and unfortunately the care/support that is available is a postcode lottery. For example our nearest hospital which deals with both under and over 16s allergy is 50 miles from home (Addenbrookes) but as we don’t live close enough we are not entitled to the same treatments and services as those living closer.
Natasha Allergy Research Foundation is therefore a cause very close to our hearts. In the face of the most devastating loss, Natasha’s family have tirelessly fought to improve the landscape for those living with severe allergies. Much has been achieved by them thus far and I really hope you will support me to help them sustain the charity and achieve its aims.
It is my total privilege to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 on behalf of the Charity in their inaugural team. However, I am nervous! I have only ever run a few 5km park runs and one 10km organised race. So a half marathon is a challenge for which I need to do plenty of training and preparation! Your donation will be the motivation I will need in those tougher training moments and also on the big day itself. Every little counts!
Big thanks
