Mr Rush, the Sunflower and Little Mrs' First Marathon

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
After a two year hiatus we have decided to once again have a crack at entering the Guinness book of Records, having had the record cruelly snatched from our petals last time!
This year Bran has started a new chapter and will be attempting the 'fastest marathon dressed as a book' record - running appropriately as Mr Rush!
Martin is sticking with flower power in an attempt to break the world record for running the fastest marathon dressed as a 3D plant.
We are both turning over new leaves in terms of run prep this year, and will give our all to bring the records back with us to Wirral!
Both costumes are in preparation for a reveal in due course :-)
Joining us this year is Anne, remarkably tolerant of all buffoonery and patient as a Saint, master of the eye roll and perhaps, arguably more worthy of your sponsorship as this will be her first marathon.
In recent years Anne has had spinal and upper limb surgery so this will be some undertaking. There isn't a record for 'fastest marathon dressed as a long suffering wife' as far as I'm aware, but if there was she'd be claiming her place in the record books too!
We are all fundraising for the fantastic SCOPE charity - please read below to learn of some of the work they do :
There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed, getting care is a struggle and the cost of living is higher. It’s wrong and unacceptable.
Life costs an extra £600 per month on average if you're disabled.
40% of disabled people live in poverty
Demand to SCOPE's helpline is up 156% and currently 1 in 3 calls go unanswered.
It costs just £8 to answer a call and provide help to a disabled person in urgent need.
So, We are fundraising for Scope to create a fairer society.
We want a future that’s fair to disabled people, always. Together we’ll use our collective power to change attitudes and end the injustice.
Join us in making this happen. Let's end disability inequality, today.
Many thanks as ever for your generosity, we are so grateful for any donation you can spare
Best wishes
