Story
With our help the children at Beseka Primary School, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will gain access to clean water, safe toilet blocks and hygiene education. Having a toilet and somewhere safe to wash your hands at school is incredibly important for children, especially young girls in cultures where there is still a lot of taboo around menstruation. Without these facilities, many girls have to stay at home when they have their period. This means they can miss up to one quarter of the school year, which makes it harder for them to achieve the same grades as their male peers.
That’s why this World Water Day our school is raising awareness, fundraising and walking to help make a life changing impact to the students at the Beseka School. Our Eco Club will walk 10k along the Thames and every bit of sponsorship will help!
