Story
Sadly, a couple of weeks ago we got the heartbreaking news that my stepdad, Brian, had been diagnosed with MND.
My daughter was heartbroken - she loves her Grandad so much! After talking to her about the diagnosis, Scarlette was very upset to learn there was no cure! So she decided she wanted to do something to try and raise money in hope of finding a 'medicine' to help her grandad and all the other people living with MND.
This has affected Brian’s life massively and it’s devastating to see! He has always been so fit, enjoying running, swimming and cycling. These things he can no longer enjoy. These things he should’ve been doing in his well deserved retirement - not this! Life is so cruel!
So, at just 8 years old, Scarlette will be cycling 127 miles in 3 days. She’ll be doing this beside the Leeds and Liverpool canal, starting in Leeds (Aire & Calder navigation) on Saturday 29th April and finishing Monday 1st May in Liverpool (River Mersey)
Cycling was one of Brian’s favourite hobbies - that being the reason why Scarlette wanted to cycle! And Liverpool was chosen as its Brians favourite football team and who he supports week after week!
Gareth (my husband) will be cycling alongside Scarls - cheering her on ❤️
Scarlette, myself, our family and of course the MND association would appreciate any donations. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
