Ahead of Remembrance day, on 9 November, I will be scrambling up Scafell Pike (978 metres) to help the animal charity Nowzad.

Nowzad is working to improve the welfare of companion animals, working equines (overworked donkeys and horses) stray and abandoned dogs and cats and all other animals in need of care and attention in Afghanistan.

Pen Farthing and the Nowzad team make a real difference to animals suffering in war inflicted areas and your support keeps their work going.

They provide rescue, rehabilitation and education facilities for the care and treatment of such animals with no voice but ours.
