Story
My wife and I are expecting a new member in the family. To celebrate the new life, I've decided to raise much needed fund for Fairplay, who supports children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, and their families, across North Derbyshire.
Hiking for Fairpay:
The hike will take place on Friday 25th August starting from Coniston in the Lake District. Although we will be fortunate enough to take in some stunning scenery, this gruelling 18.5 miles hike will include hiking up and reaching the summit of 7 fells!!
We will be tackling: The Old Man of Coniston, Grey Friar, Crinkle Crags, Great Knott, Pike of Blisco, Little Carrs and Wetherlam - we'll reach 859m elevation at our highest point......... it's not going to be easy work but considering the difficulties some of the families that we support face, it seems like a walk in the park.
Please help us raise much needed funds by sponsoring us for this event - even if you sponsor us £1, every penny really does count.
About the Charity:
They offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of families. Offering support to children and young people, aged 0-30, and to parents and siblings. The Charity runs play schemes and Saturday clubs for children, youth clubs, activity days, themed groups, and independent living groups for young people, and parent support groups and family trips for parents and siblings.
Fairplay provides a home based care service for children with complex health care needs that may be life-threatening or life-limiting. Also provide a child-centred flexible service that meets the needs of the child and their family.
Fairplay gives families the support that they need, and gives opportunities to take part in positive experiences that make a real difference to their lives. Enabling parents to have valuable respite including 24 hour care and give children and young people the opportunity to develop a wide range of life skills.
Thank you
