Story
Oakleaf Enterprise is a charity based in Guildford which has been supporting adults with mental health needs in Surrey for the past 25 years. In addition to mental ill-health, many of those supported by the charity also suffer from low confidence, poverty and extreme social isolation, often alienated from family and friends. Oakleaf aims to help people secure the skills, confidence and training needed to achieve their goals, with a focus on returning to the workplace. To do this they deliver work-related training and employment support, wellbeing activities, counselling and 1:1 emotional support.
A quote from someone Oakleaf supports:
“My confidence in myself and self-worth have really improved. I feel that there is somewhere I can go, be totally myself and feel supported…I can be me with all my issues and difficulties and still feel normal and not feel that I have to hide behind a mask.”
Your donation will make a real difference, for example:
£20 could fund two weeks of supplies for our art classes. The therapeutic benefits of art are extensive, and our art project has had a hugely positive impact over the past few years, helping clients to reduce their social isolation, increase confidence and boost positive mental health.
£60 could fund two weeks of fitness classes for Oakleaf clients, led weekly by an experienced, certified trainer. These fitness classes are part of our programme of helping clients to increase their confidence, make friends and ultimately rebuild their lives with a stronger sense of wellbeing.
£250 could fund a block of six counselling sessions with an experienced BACP-registered counsellor, available for Oakleaf clients facing particularly challenging or complex mental ill-health.
