Sarolta's fundraiser for Volunteer Zambia Sport 2025 - Loughborough University RAG

Volunteer Zambia Sport is a collaborative project amongst UK Universities (The Wallace Group) and several UK and Zambian sport organisations that aims make a difference to the lives of young Zambian people by empowering and enriching communities, through the power of sport, leadership and education.
Loughborough University is contributing 4 students and 2 staff members to the project this year and I will be one of the staff members.
My role will be to mentor, train and support our students so they are ready for their 8 week stay in Lusaka, Zambia, and to be a supervising and supporting "grown-up" during my own, 3 week long stay there in August.
Between January and July 2025, we are tasked to fundraise a group total of nearly £15,000. This total is made up of individual fundraising amounts, as well as a group target. My personal fundraising total is £1,250.
All funds raised go towards flights, visas, travel vaccinations and living expenses whilst staying in Zambia.
I am most excited to learn about an African culture and to spend time in the community that this project has worked so hard to build, through sport, since 2004. I can't wait to see the impact this project has made on the lives of young people. I never thought that an opportunity like this would ever present itself to me, still pinching myself to believe.
I am so very grateful for Loughborough Sport to give me this opportunity and I promise to be a great support to our students.
Thank you so much for your donation!
