Story
I am raising money for Diabetes UK because this cause is deeply personal. I was once pre-diabetic, and with a family history of diabetes, I understand the fear and uncertainty that comes with it. Through significant lifestyle changes and a commitment to running, I managed to turn my health around. Now, as a lifestyle mentor, I see firsthand how diabetes impacts the lives of many, particularly within the South Asian community, where the prevalence is alarmingly high.
I am taking on the unique challenge of running the London Marathon in a traditional 9-yard saree to raise awareness and funds. Typically, sarees are 6 yards long, but I push myself further by wearing a 9-yard saree. Given my small frame (I'm only 5'1" and of slight build), this will be an enormous challenge. However, it symbolizes the strength and resilience required to fight diabetes and highlights the importance of cultural inclusivity in health initiatives.
Every step I take in this marathon is a step towards raising awareness and vital funds for Diabetes UK. Your support will help provide essential resources, research, and support services for those living with diabetes. Learn more about how your donations help.
Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to countless lives. Please join me in this journey to fight diabetes and promote a healthier future for all. Follow my marathon preparation and updates on my BLOG and social media.
