Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since my sister-in-law passed away in 2003 the hospice has always been a cause close to my heart and my family’s too.

She was only 36 when she passed away from cancer leaving twin daughter’s aged 2 and my nephew who was 7. The team at Dougie Mac were a pillar of strength to her and our family at home, during her last few weeks, and whilst she was there. Nothing was too much trouble.

The team were so caring and helpful to all, and it made our final time together just work so we could be in the moment for her.

Unfortunately, since her passing we have had two further close family members spend their final days at the hospice. Again, the care and experience from the team was there when we needed it as a family.

We are in absolute admiration and in deepest gratitude to all staff at Dougie Mac who provide amazing facilities and services day-to-day for cancer patients! During such stressful periods they help at every stage to take away any unnecessary stress.

We know that Dougie Mac touches most people’s lives in Staffordshire. Without such a pillar of strength within the community it would be such a loss to so many people at a time when they need help the most.

Carl and I work with charities to provide the spaces that they need to operate effectively and efficiently now and into the future. We understand the financial constraints and without charities in our communities there would almost certainly be voids in our care system.

Donations are extremely important and that is why we want to support the team who give 24/7 to our close-knit city community.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.

Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.

So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
