Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I’m fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley; a local charity with a big ambition – to make sure nobody faces death and loss alone. The hospice relies on donations to offer pioneering end of life care and support to people in Sussex and East Surrey.
As a family we were supported by St Catherine’s when my husband was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and was terminally ill. The care for him both at home and in the hospice, where he died, was exceptional and I can only describe the staff there as true angels.
Our support didn’t stop there. I will never forget the support they gave to me personally, my children and my extended family when it was time to say goodbye to our Nige. It was always caring, respectful, honest and informative during a very sad and emotional time. Even after our wonderful Nige died they continued to support me to help us rebuild our lives.
Which is why after saying that I would never run a Marathon because I wouldn’t be able to find the time to train…here I am running the London Marathon in memory of Nige (who was one in a million) and in support of St Catherine’s as a way of thanking them for being there for us when we needed it most.
Any donation you can give will mean a lot to both me and my family and will make a direct difference to families facing terminal illness. St Catherine’s has never needed our support more as they move into a new building this year. Together, let’s make sure the hospice can continue to provide vital support to people when they need it most.
