Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To celebrate turning 40 this year I have decided to raise money for Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals charity. This charity is very close to my heart for many reasons. Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and its staff have saved not only my life, but the lives of both of my boys when they were very tiny. Oscar was born 5 weeks premature and needed care in NICU and Henry was transferred to Bristol from GRH for life saving abdominal surgery.
And as for me, two years ago I was recovering from Aspergillosis in GRH and had just gone through a second bronchoscopy to try and wash out my right lung. The infection damaged my already scarred lungs and made me wonder if I’d ever be able to run again. After nearly a year of intense treatment and support from the Respiratory team I was free from the infection, but still didn’t have the confidence to try running.
Last year I plucked up the courage to join Health and Hustle, and with kindness, support and brilliant coaching from Kev Gannaway-Pitts, I am now running regularly. This is something I never thought possible!
I am hoping to raise money for the hospitals charity to not only thank them for the care myself and my boys have received but also for the ongoing treatment that family friends are receiving from the oncology team.
This summer I will be participating in 4 events
• Cheltenham Running Festival
• Gloucester 10k
• Cheltenham 10K
• The Severn Bridge 10k (ideal for someone who hates heights like me!!)
This will be a big challenge for me and I’ve never consistently run that many events so close together before. I would appreciate any sponsorship support and thank you for taking the time to read this 😊
