Story
What am I doing:
On the 6th July 2024 I am walking 26.2 miles for the Great Glencoe Challenge and raising funds for Canine Cancer Research which is carried out at The University of Edinburgh.
Why am I doing this., .
Eddie the Golden Retriever
On the 15th July 2021 my beautiful Eddie was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma. T-=Cell is the more aggressive type of Lymphoma and when we received the diagnosis, Eddie had around 2 weeks to live. Sadly, there is no cure for Lymphoma and after some very quick decisions, on the 16th July 2021, Eddie had his first Chemotherapy. Chemo doesn’t always have an impact on Lymphoma, but we got lucky. Lymph nodes reduced and for 8 months I had my Eddie back and we made memories - lots of them.
On the 15th March 2022, Eddie lost his fight and he was at peace. He was 4.5 years old.
Eddie was a very fit, raw fed, well bred Golden that was not given unnecessary chemicals. But something within him was ticking away. To help prevent dogs like Eddie and many others developing Lymphoma or any other cancer, research into Canine Cancer is so important for our dogs now and in the future.
The only way the research can take place is if we raise the funds needed,
The University of Edinburgh is the leading research facility of Canine Cancer Research and is a registered charity.
I am asking you to help and make a donation for this worthy cause no matter how small.
Canine Cancer has no boundaries. Your help will be appreciated,
