Trek across the green rolling landscapes of rural Galicia, meet fellow trekkers and even pilgrims, discover local traditions and enjoy the unique atmosphere – today the Camino is more than a pilgrimage but a remarkable journey and unique experience.

Story

Sarah Whitaker, Martine Todd and Gill Haigh are trekking in support of St John’s Hospice.

Sarah ‘s family recently lost her much loved brother Simon to cancer. He was a great family man with huge enthusiasm for life who was drawn to helping others and loved nothing more than company and making people laugh. We will be walking together in his memory and for so many other dear friends and loved ones who are no longer with us.

We are self funding so all proceeds raised will go to St John’s Hospice which provides invaluable end of life care but costs £8000 a day and a staggering £5.1 million a year to run, with only 1/3 being provided by Government funding. The remaining 2/3 must be raised through fundraising and donations.

We hope our fundraising efforts can help others when they need it most. Any donations will be greatly appreciated by us and keep us going on our marathon trek.
