Currently, 62% of people in prison and 15% of people in the community either cannot read or struggle to.

That's why I'm taking part in Shannon Trust's virtual prison to prison walk. I'll be walking as many miles as possible throughout April 2023.

About the challenge:

Shannon Trust staff, volunteers, mentors and supporters are collectively walking from HMP Dartmoor to HMP Northumberland - that's 409 miles - throughout April 2023.

Participants are virtually walking as many miles as possible throughout the month while raising vital funds to support disadvantaged people to learn to read and improve their maths skills.
