Story
As many of you know, the wonderful young man Omar Sayeed Iqbal: my nephew, a loving son, gorgeous brother, kind grandchild, worshipped cousin and devoted friend, took his own life in May 2023.
We miss him so unbearably and nothing perhaps can ever fill the pain in our hearts.
Since May I have wanted to do as much as possible to pay tribute to Omar but also to help raise the plight of suicide which is an awful reality for many people left behind as a consequence. But for those who actually take their own lives, the strife is all consuming and it is the only road they see ahead of them.
I am personally in awe of my nephew Omar for everything he was and achieved when he was alive.
I will do a 10 mile walk in December to raise money for James' Place. I will walk to the South Downs as part of this walk. Below is information on this amazing charity. Please do support with as much as you can and if you cannot, do share this link with others.
About James' Place:
At James' Place, our mission is to stop men dying by suicide. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. We believe that no man should face a suicidal crisis alone. James' Place provides free, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.
