Read CCF Staff support SSAFA
Read School CCF has been raising money this year to support SSAFA, the Armed Forces’’ charity.
The cadets have undertaken a number of fundraising initiatives raising over £250 already and so the CCF Staff felt it was time they undertook their own challenge.
Members of the Army and RAF section staff will be setting off on 23 March 2025 to complete a 10k trek in the Carparby area of North Yorkshire.
This will be especially challenging for Fg Off Annette Oliver who will be celebrating the four month anniversary of having her right leg amputated. Annette will do a mixture of walking on her new prosthetic leg and wheeling along in her wheelchair.
Annette said, ‘This will be a tough one, but it is for such a worthy cause. What makes this challenge so exciting is that I will be surrounded by friends and colleagues, who I know I can rely on for help and support when the going gets rough. Working together as a team to achieve our goals sums up what the CCF is all about.’
