Welcome to the Swim 5 Miles in May Challenge for the American Cancer Society! You are joining the American Cancer Society, a registered 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving the lives of people facing cancer and their families.

Story

I am swimming 5 miles in the month of May to help the American Cancer Society support cancer patients and their caregivers.

A year ago my friend Sonia (10) developed a soft tissue sarcoma. After a year of chemo and radiation, she is back at school and crushing it in 5th grade.

I am humbled by her family’s strength and grace. Her dry wit and blunt honesty about this whole ordeal grounds everyone around her. I am swimming for Sonia and the community of care providers, researchers, family and friends who advance the treatment of cancer. (PS: cancer, you suck. I am not swimming for you.)

Our team is a circle of moms who love swimming + hanging out and laughing. We are: Eliza Peoples, Sarah Rathbone, Kelly French, Jen McCormick, Jen Ross, Kelli Hessler & Dina Jardine.
