Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Sarah has a big birthday this year and persuaded some gullible friends (Mike, Kelly, Kevin, George, Kate, Paul, Janine, Ruby, Fiona, Ben and the baby of the group, Amy) to hike the three biggest mountains in the UK, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours!

Our self navigating trip, starts with an 11 hour mini bus drive from Cornwall to Scotland. The real work begins 8am on 20th June at the base of Ben Nevis - 23 miles trekking with 3064m of ascent and 462 miles driving between mountains.

We had no particular charity in mind but fate intervened when Amy's mum, Lynn was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 24. Thanks to the excellent service from the state of the art Primrose Breast Care Centre at University Hospitals, Plymouth, Lynn has already had a mastectomy and is awaiting further treatment and continued support.

What started as a fun idea has taken on a new purpose - to summit the UK's three biggest peaks in 24 hours whilst at the same time raising funds for our local Breast care charity, The Primrose Foundation to help fund vital resources and equipment to support staff, patients and their families

HEARTFELT THANKS for supporting us with our mountain journey and Lynn's ongoing cancer journey.
