Story
In May 2025 I will be travelling to the UK to participate in a multi-day ultra marathon from Lands End in England to John O’Groats in Scotland. Run Britannia is presented by Rat Race events and promises to be a truly epic adventure experience, more details here: https://www.ratrace.com/run-britannia
I am acutely aware of the incredible privilege I have to participate in such an adventure, knowing that for the thousands of children and their families every year who receive a devastating cancer diagnosis this would be an impossible dream. So, while it might seem that running an ultra marathon every day for 37 days is a monumental challenge, it pales in comparison to the battles faced every day by children with cancer.
Rat Race supports Children with Cancer UK and I could not be more passionate about helping to raise funds for this incredibly worthy charity. Like so many others worldwide, my family and friends have been impacted by the terrible tragedy of childhood cancer and raising funds and awareness to help battle this devastating disease is so important.
Our vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer.
For 35 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded much needed research into the causes of childhood cancers, and the development of better, kinder treatments as well as funding initiatives that support children and their families through cancer treatment and beyond.
Our work has contributed significantly to a marked increase in childhood cancer survival rates and improved quality of life for patients.
