Story
I didn't get a London Marathon place so I'm doing the Brighton one instead.
As many of you are aware I've been really unwell with postnatal depression for almost a year now. Severe mental illness took me hugely by surprise and the strange and scary places you mind takes you when it's unwell.
Mind's website has been invaluable to me throughout my illness: it has been a great resource to try and help me understand what was going on and also give family and friends useful resources to help support.
As I continue my journey to recovery I hope that having a running target will prove useful. Running has been such a huge part of my self care strategy for the last 5 years since the trauma of losing dad and Alex's anxiety inducing pregnancy.
After my May "ultra" I got a foot injury, so I'm having to regain lost fitness. I'm trying to let go of the idea of needing to achieve a certain time for this one and enjoy the process of getting active and knowing I am helping others.
