Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives.
Sarah’s Story - Sarah lost her loving Uncle Tony in Jan 2020 after a long battle with cancer, as well as my close friend, Rich, in October 2020. In September 2023 I unfortunately lost my beloved Father in Law, John, to melanoma cancer, after over coming his battle with lymphoma in 2020-21.
All three men had been chief supporters of mine - reminding me of the lighter side of life when times got tough & offering me invaluable advice throughout my 20s & 30s. I miss all three of them dearly & decided it’s time I do something in their memory.
Lucy’s story - Having met Sarah in Feb 2024 we hit it off instantly realising we have a lot in common, including our chosen wedding venue! We both have a keen interest in exercise, yet knowing Sarah hadn’t raced competitively since having Jack, in 2020, I challenged her to a 10k, to get her back into her competitive groove. Having not ever raced a 10k before myself I thought how hard could this be. Now both pushing ourselves on Strava weekly I do wonder “What have I unleashed?!”
