Story
Nova u8 Stingrays are holding their very own Rudolph Relay in aid of Severn Hospice and Ronald McDonalds House Charity – the perfect festive fun activity to start our Christmas countdown.
At their training session on the 3rd December they will be running the equivalent distance from McDonald’s in Newport to the Hospice in Telford which is 10 miles all to raise money for local good causes. This equates to 16,093 meters or 252 widths of a football pitch.
Severn Hospice provides specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness.
The hospice supports families through the good days and bad days for as long as they need it, and does this every day, all day, for anyone who needs that help. For every £1 donated to the hospice last year, 84p was spent directly care. The remaining 16p was used to raise another £1.
It’s with thanks to our communities that Severn Hospice has been able to provide care and support to local families for the past 35 years.
As a team we are lucky enough to have McDonald’s sponsor us and following a successful sponsored walk we did in the summer we would like to give something back to them again. The Ronald McDonald Charity provides free 'home away from home' accommodation at hospitals, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life.
Please help Nova Stingrays support these two amazing charities at such a special time of year.
