24 hour Sponsored Silence , 28 October 2023
Help us to launch our new, in-house period instrument ensemble to perform Handel's Messiah, together with our Boy and Girl Choristers and professional Vocal Consort

Story

I’m really proud to be a chorister with the Platinum Choral Foundation. The Platinum Choristers is run as a charity to give local children the chance to have a cathedral-style training.

On 18th November we are singing Handel’s Messiah at St John’s Smith Square. We will have amazing soloists and a consort of period instruments which is very exciting. Hiring the building and paying the musicians is expensive. All the choristers are fund raising to help out.

I will be … drum roll … doing a sponsored 24 hour silence on October 28th, just the opposite of what I’ll be doing at the concert! Please give as generously as you can - for musical children, singing with Platinum is an amazing opportunity.

Thank you for encouraging me with your sponsorship. Keeping silent for 24 hours might be tricky although my family seems to think it’s a good idea. 😊

You could even come to The Messiah, or if you prefer, to our advent service at Hampton Court’s Chapel Royal on 16th December. Tickets are available from the websites. I hope to see you there.

Cantate corde magno … Sing with a loud heart! 🎶

About the charity

We delight in celebrating the evolution of the voice. We support Platinum Consort in staging concerts involving our young Choristers, professional Orchestra and Vocal Consort, and we provide bursary support for children who would otherwise not be able to take part in our Chorister Programme.
