Story
I first met Jess and David when our first born sons were just months old, and spent time together, with our childrne, since then we have both gone on to have more children, Angus was born the same year and my youngest son and I have always wanted to be able to raise money for Angus.
Angus needs a specialist bike, and at the cost of £2500, I would love to be able to rise money towards his first bike so he is able to enjoy bike rides and fun with his friends and family, like all children should be able to do, despite having having Cerebral Palsy
Here's Angus's Story :
Angus Grocott is six years old and has huge potential.
He was born with Cerebral Palsy following oxygen starvation. He has astounded specialists with his progress so far in physio, speech and feeding therapy.
His progress however comes at an enormous cost to maintain weekly private therapies and intensive blocks of therapy not currently provided by the NHS.
With these therapies Angus will continue to progress. Without them he could sink back, losing many of the skills he has learned already.
Despite Angus’ challenges he is a very smart boy who started mainstream school in September 2022 with support.
At the start of last year Angus got his first communication device (eye gaze), this is the most amazing piece of equipment where he uses his eyes to navigate a computer to communicate. Finally Angus can show the world how bright he is and how much he has to say! Hearing your child tell you ‘you’re my best friend’ is priceless.
Angus's family have raised money before but nearly all of it has been spent giving him every bit of support. Now he needs more help to achieve the future his family and therapists know is possible. Thank you for reading!
Just4Children are raising money to build on Angus' progress to date in terms of physiotherapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy to give him the best chance for the future to achieve his fullest potential
