Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2019 we were blessed to discover we were pregnant with our first baby!
On our 20 week scan we were delivered some shattering news of which we discovered our baby boy was extreamly poorly, this was the first time we heard the word CDH.
Congenital diaphragmatic hernia, where your child is given a 50/50 outcome, even less sometimes. Logan’s diaphragm had a sizeable hole and due to this his intestines and stomach were up in his chest cavity, obstructing the growth of his left lung and displaced the position of his heart.
We were told our child’s chances, which started as 50/50 and dropped later on in the pregnancy. We were told to think about terminating the pregnancy but felt that if there was a chance we could bring him home we at least owed him that. We would go to war with our little soilder and support him in the battle he would fight.
Logan was a really poorly baby and spent a long time in the high intensity unit of the RVI. Multiple surgeries, some big scares and some awful infections, We had days where we didn’t think it would ever end but step by step we eventually brought our little boy home! There’s not a day where I don’t thank the stars.
TIny Lives Trust don’t only support sick and premature babies but also the parents alongside. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the help of the Trust and also the care of the amazing doctor and nurses of the RVI. To this day we grieve the things we’ve seen but will be forever thankful for the support we got.
This charity doesn’t just offer support and care for babies and families but also towards the research needed to improve the outcome of many illnesses.
