Story
In July 2025, I have challenged myself to take on the Cotswolds Mighty Hike to help raise money for people living with cancer. I will be walking with Michelle and Laura in memory of all those we have lost to cancer including my beloved nan - Barbara Bysouth - more commonly known as Barb - who would have been 94 in June 2025.
I'd be so grateful if you could help me reach my £250 pledge, which can pay for a Macmillan Nurse for one day. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
I have completed a whole range of events over the years, from swimming across Lake Windermere and pier to pier from Bournemouth to Boscombe to running marathons. However, this event is particularly special as I have decided to ask for sponsorship and to complete it in memory of ‘nan’ aka Barb/mother/Barbie. She was a one off and sometimes difficult person, but she was taken too early by a combination of different cancers.
Please help me to reach my goal of £250. It really is for an amazing cause and every £1 counts!!
Thank you!
