Story
Virunga is Africa's oldest national park, founded as Parc Albert in 1925 to protect endangered mountain gorillas. It has expanded and become the Virunga Alliance, committed to responsibly harnessing the area's natural resources to create new opportunities for the local population, alongside conservation work.
Dennis was incredibly lucky to be seconded to the Virunga Alliance for a month in 2017 to help them with an organisational redesign, and, whilst there, even luckier to visit the gorillas and climb Mount Nyiragongo. The variety and scale of the Virunga Alliance activities and the impact they have is amazing, and any donations will be put to incredibly good use, supporting Ranger training, hydropower projects or sustainable agriculture.
