Story

I am running the half marathon in February and I’ve also now signed up to run the Marathon in April to raise money to create a new patient toilet at Hurstwood Park Chemotherapy Suite, on the Princess Royal Hospital site in Haywards Heath. The new toilet will improve privacy and comfort for patients receiving treatment. This cause is very important to me as I currently have a close friend undergoing treatment here at the hospital and they have told me what a huge difference having this new toilet would make.

"Currently the only toilet is in the waiting room which which you have to access outside of the ward and across a corridor and into the waiting room which could be full, plus you're all hooked up to your drip etc so it's not the most practical or pleasant. It would just make patients much more comfortable when they're having their treatment."

The Sussex Cancer Fund works with the NHS to create new and improved facilities for cancer care in Sussex, including purchasing specialist equipment, providing additional patient services, refurbishment projects and funding cancer research studies.
