Peak District Mighty Hike 2025 - Walking for Paul, for Jenny and for Everyone Fighting Cancer

In 2019, after suffering a minor stroke, Paul was diagnosed with cancer. He bravely faced surgery, but after that, we received the devastating news—his illness was terminal. He then underwent chemotherapy and immunotherapy, fighting every step of the way.
As a family, we stood by Paul, supporting him in every way we could. But there are some things only a Macmillan nurse can do, and that’s where Jenny—affectionately known as Jenny from the Block (yes, after the J.Lo track!)—became an absolute lifeline. From fighting his corner with GP surgeries to offering emotional and practical support, she was incredible. Knowing she was there gave us all huge peace of mind during such a difficult time. She recently retired, but her impact will stay with us forever.
Thankfully, Paul is still with us today. Thanks to newer cancer-fighting drugs, he can live a relatively normal life for as long as possible—something we are incredibly grateful for.
This 26-mile hike honours Jenny's dedication and ensures more families get the support they so desperately need. It’s also for everyone battling this cruel disease, for those who never had the chance to fight, and for the incredible work Macmillan does every day.
For me, this is also a personal challenge, but I’m incredibly proud to take every step alongside my mini me, Amy—mine and Paul’s daughter.
Keep fighting. Stay strong. Never give up.
Thank you for supporting such a great cause—it means the world to Paul, our family, and so many others.
💕 Every donation makes a difference.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
Thank you xx
