Story
Ever wonder what it's like to be a part of one of those crazy, big Italian families you’ve heard about? Better still, ever wonder what it's like to grow up in one of them? Sara Van Kirk (nee: Dariano) was lucky enough to grow up in one of those loud, loving, fun, dynamic families... and the stories she shares are priceless. “My mom is the hardest working woman I know. She instilled a very powerful work ethic in me at a young age, and I can never repay her for all that she’s done for our family. Family is my number one, and I will always be there for them.” Yet, on the flip side of the amazing sense of family love comes the sadness of loss. Some of her closest family members succumbed to cancer too soon.
When Sara was only fourteen, she was deeply affected by the loss of her closest aunt, MoMo, to cancer. It was a devastating blow to a young girl who idolized her aunt. “Momo was charismatic and helped everyone. I craved to be like her. I want to be a great role model to my five nieces.” Grandma Louise was also diagnosed with breast cancer but, after radical treatment, lived an additional 20 years cancer-free. There were other cancer diagnoses and tragedy in the Dariano family, and it left its mark on Sara.
As she readied for her wedding in 2020 amid Covid 19, Sara discovered the empowerment and exhilaration of fitness and healthy eating. She became more and more entrenched in fitness as a means of deflecting illness and disease. Cancer was not going to rob her or her family of their precious time together. Her passion turned to boxing, and in addition to her external beauty, she is the epitome of internal strength, power, and kindness.
As a former Board Member of Glam-A-THON™, Sara connected her extensive social media network with the power of giving and helping patients affected by breast cancer in the local community. She engaged her large audience of followers with the mission to Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye®, which greatly impacted fundraising for the charity. Additionally, Sara has been a GLAMMY AWARD honoree TWICE and raised more than $30,000 for breast cancer patients needing financial assistance. This will be Sara’s third GLAMMY AWARD, and her goal is to crush the $50,000 donation mark with the help of her vast network.
Marrying the love of her life, Kevin, and welcoming two rescue Pit Bull fur babies, Juno and Da Baby, helped her complete her life. Those who know Sara know she’s a whirlwind of energy, love, and connections. It’s no surprise that she was the 2023 Realtor of the Year for Signature Real Estate Finder, specializing in the South Florida tri-county area, who also excels at social media and connection.
When asked what she’d like her legacy to be, she replied “ I want to leave a legacy of good. What we put into the universe; we get back. I want people to know that they shouldn’t be indecisive or afraid to commit themselves to helping others. Don’t hesitate because you will feel like a superhero by enhancing people’s lives. Believe in yourself and work with your network to do great things. A sense of accomplishment is the greatest gift you can receive.”
We applaud and admire this ravishing beauty who knows no bounds. Welcome to your third GLAMMY AWARD, Sara. You are the Glam-A-THON™ GOAT - GREATEST OF ALL TIME!
