Story
So blessed and proud to be Katies mum. She continues to inspire us…
In katie’s words;
This year my family, best friends, and I are taking on the LLHM for a cause that means a great deal to us. Back in May 2022, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Since then, I have had some challenges to face — 9hours of awake brain surgery, 6 weeks of radiotherapy, and 14 months of chemo. It’s been tough, but I wouldn’t have made it through without the incredible support of my family and friends.
Completing the LLHM will be a great personal achievement for a few of us, considering we could barely run 5km six months ago!
The Brain Tumour Charity has been a rock for us, helping us understand what was happening and guiding us through the hardest moments.
The stats around funding for brain tumour research are heartbreaking. We have to change this. That’s why we’re putting in the miles—because every step we take can help raise awareness and funds to make a difference.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the absolute world to us. Together, we can help others facing this fight and work towards better treatments, more research, and ultimately, a cure.
Thank you so much for your support. Let’s do this! ❤️
'Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer. They reduce life expectancy by an average of 35 years globally and 27 years in the UK – far more than any other cancer or significant disease. And in the UK, just 13% of people survive brain cancer for more than five years.'
