Sara's fundraiser for YMCA of Austin

Sara Harwood is raising money for YMCA of Austin
The Y helps address critical needs like affordable childcare for parents, safe spaces for children to play, fitness opportunities for adults, swim safety for kids, meaningful jobs for teens, and access to mental health care for everyone.

Story

I have so many things to be thankful to the YMCA for. The YMCA gave me my first experience into the working world at 14 years old. Starting out as a backyard swim instructor in Michigan to now coming full circle and having the privilege of serving as the Chief Development Officer for the Greater Austin YMCA. The YMCA has filled in so many spaces in my life and the lives of our girls. From t-ball to soccer, volleyball, swim lessons and now Hanna's first official job, the YMCA has been instrumental in helping us raise caring, loving and empathetic girls. I feel passionate that these resources should be available to ALL and that's why I'm asking for your help in fundraising.

The Greater Austin YMCA addresses the community’s greatest needs - from an expecting family searching for child care to seniors playing pickleball, the Y touches every phase of life and nurtures happier, healthier people, a stronger community and a better world.

Each year, the Y provides nearly $2.5M in financial assistance to make these programs accessible to everyone, regardless of someone's circumstances.

This is made possible through the Annual Giving Campaign. Each year, more than 300 volunteers, staff, Y members, friends and family come together to help raise the critical funds necessary to ensure that the Y's life-changing programs continue to be available to ALL.

The Y is personally so important to our family. I hope you'll join me in making a difference with a gift today.
